Supporting a wide temperature range

Because the temperature dependency of the relative permittivity and conductivity is sufficiently low, this Tissue Equivalent Liquids can be used for measurements in the temperature range between 18°C and -25°C. *3

Easy to restore properties

The dielectric properties change due to moisture evaporation. However, it can be easily recoverd by adding deionized water.*4
The amount of water required to recover the product can be calculated theoretically. The correction formula is  also provided.

It is recommended to stir the liquid well after the addition of deionized water and be kept quiet for half a day until starting measurement.

Tissue Equivalent Liquids, SAR Measurement Inquiry


NTT-AT's Tissue-Equivalent liquids have compatibility with the requirements of dielectric properties standardized by ARIB (Association of Radio Industries and Businesses), FCC, and IEC for the human head and body.
The product can be applied to SAR measurements for cellular phone, measurement of radiation patterns and development of receiving and transmitting antenna used nearby human body. The product is ecological, odorless, and has a low temperature dependency of dielectric properties.
Wide variety of the lineup enables to apply to measurement for wide range of frequencies used for several kind of wireless terminals.
These products are developed based on the studies in NICT(National Institute of Information and Communication Techinology).

  • Abundant lineup
    You can select a suitable product for SAR measurements of Amateur Radio, GSM, PDC, W-CDMA, Wireless LAN, and Bluetooth.
  • Ecology and Safety
    All constituents, surfactants, preservatives, salt and water, are materials which can be added in foods,and have less odor.
  • Easy handling and safe disposal
    The product contains no poisonous or deleterious materials. It is also flameproof. (Please check and obey local regulations.)
  • Usable in broad temperature range
    The dielectric properties of the product are stable and can be used in temperature range between 18 and 25 degrees Celsius except part of the products.
  • Does not damage phantom shells made of FRP or acryl
    However, Polypropylenes have a possibility to make themselves harder.
  • Easy to restore
    Dielectric properties can be easily adjusted with deionized water. (It takes about half a day to stabilize dielectric properties of the liquid after adjusting with deionized water. After the adjustment, we recommend you to mix the liquid thoroughly and then, be kept quiet half a day until starting measurement.
